Camp Ehawee is where it's at this summer!
It is an exciting place to spend your summer vacation days away from home, meet fun counselors and make friends while having a blast outside doing activities you love and trying new things too!

Camp Ehawee (E-how-ee) means “Camp of Laughing Maidens” in the Ho-Chunk language.  Our mission is to inspire each camper to reach her full potential and we wish to provide an opportunity for every girl to learn about herself, gain independence and to care for the world around her.  Any girl can come to Camp Ehawee. You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to enjoy our jewel in the forest!

Located 25 miles north of La Crosse and 70 miles south of Eau Claire among 308 scenic acres of pine forests and prairie, Camp Ehawee facilities include:

Program Leadership
The foundation upon which Girl Scouting is built consists of the Girl Scout Promise, Girl Scout Law, and the new Leadership Development Program.  When campers participate in planning some of their own experiences, they are participating in the activities of Discover, Connect, and Take Action, culminating in hands-on leadership activities.  Our Program Goal is to develop each camper to her full potential while relating to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; developing a meaningful set of values to guide her actions; and contributing to society through the use of her abilities and leadership skills.  At Camp Ehawee our major focus is to deliver meaningful programs to girls in a safe and secure environment!

Camp Director, Andrea "Harper" Tsilis
Get ready for another fun and exciting summer at Camp Ehawee!  We are bringing back your favorite camp sessions and counselors!  The 2008 summer camp brochure will be online and in your mailbox at the end of January.  Be sure to check out the 6 brand new resident camp sessions and the 5 brand new day camp sessions!  As always be sure to bring your big smiles to camp and get ready for loads of fun!

Camp Staff
You will meet 30 staff members from around the United States, and international staff, when you arrive at camp. They will have funny, camp names like Daisy, Lucky and Crash because we like to do things "differently" at camp! Your counselors most likely go to school during the off-season of camp and are working at camp because they want to learn new things, have a blast working outside, gain experience working with campers, and believe that camp is a great place for kids to have fun and be safe! There are 20 counselors and 10 administrative staff members. We have 3 kitchen staff, 3 waterfront staff, art & nature director, program and tripping director, assistant director, business manager, health supervisor and a CIT Director in addition to our Camp Director and Camp Ranger. The staff is the heart of Camp Ehawee!  I carefully appoint staff members based on personal values, maturity and interest in working with youth.  I complete background and reference checks on each staff member.  Most importantly, I create our 10-day staff training program to be an intensive experience to ensure a safe, close-knit community for our campers.  Thank you to all our staff members for creating such a wonderful, positive, and safe experience for our campers!

Camp Store
Each camper has the opportunity to shop in the Camp Ehawee Trading Post during her adventures at camp.  The Trading Post carries items such as T-shirts, hats, toys, stuffed animals, pens, stationary, health supplies, mosquito netting, bug spray, whistles and many souvenirs to take home to remember your time at Camp Ehawee!

Camp Brochures
Coming January/February 2008!  They are released in January/February of the camp season year.  Camp Brochures are mailed to every currently registered Girl Scout and every Girl Scout that has not re-registered from the previous membership year (one is sent per household).  If you would like to request that a brochure is mailed to you, please email or call the Registrar, Ramani Pillai, at ramani-pillai@centurytel.net or 1-800-787-2688 x303.  Please be sure to include the following: Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip and Number of Brochures requested.

Camp Send-A-Kid – 2008
The La Crosse Tribune's "
Camp Send-A-Kid" program is aimed at helping children who are disadvantaged in many ways, not just economically, but possibly emotionally, spiritually and/or physically.  Children selected to participate will enjoy their camping experience at Camp Ehawee - a 308-acre resident camp owned by the Girl Scouts of Riverland Council. Nestled among a pine forest along the banks of the Black River near Mindoro, Wisconsin, Camp Ehawee features hiking trails, swimming pool, wildlife and platform tents.  If a camper is selected for the program, cost for the camp is FREE.  Questions?  Contact Andrea Tsilis, 608-784-3693 ext. 312 or email andrea-tsilis@centurytel.net.
